Spanish for Business is aware that your time is precious. For that reason, after many years of research and 17 years of experience teaching Spanish to business people, we have developed a Spanish program consisting of classes and a manual, which allows you to learn the Spanish you need to communicate effectively. Spanish for the Wine Industry I: This class is beginning/intermediate level. It is tailored for the wine industry and includes vocabulary and situations pertinent to vineyards, wineries and human resources. 20 hours of instruction: 2 hrs. a week for 10 weeks. Spanish for the Wine Industry is the text required.
Spanish for the Wine Industry II : This class is intermediate level. It is for people who have already taken Spanish for the Wine Industry or have a Spanish language knowledge equivalent to two semesters of recent Spanish instruction. In this class, we will review material from the introductory class and learn some new information. We will also cover the chapters "Working in a Vineyard," "Working in a Winery" and "Human Resources." 14 hrs. of instruction: 2 hrs. a week for 7 weeks.
Spanish for the Wine Industry at Santa Rosa Junior College: Vit 72 / Span 72 (3 units) This is a full semester Saturday course that includes Spanish for the Wine Industry I and II. It covers basic grammar as well as vocabulary and situations pertinent to the vineyard and winery operations with emphasis on oral communication. Topics include soil preparation, irrigation, planting, pruning, canopy management, disease and pest control, harvesting, crushing and pressing the fruit, winery sanitation, filling paper work, safety, and awareness of cultural differences. Materials required: Spanish for the Wine Industry manual and CDs
Conversations in Spanish: This class is intermediate/advanced level. It is ideal for people who already completed Spanish for the Wine Industry II or with Spanish knowledge equivalent to at least two years of recent Spanish instruction. We will review grammar, vocabulary and new material may be added at the participants' request. All topics are welcome. No English is allowed after the first class. 1 hour every other week.
